Pulmonology
ReCARE®: Advanced Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) applied to Pulmonology
The benefits of NMES can be observed not only for the rehabilitation of patients with neuromuscular pathologies, but also to treat skeletal and respiratory muscle dysfunction.
The ReCARE® technology acts on strengthening the pulmonary musculature, improving the functional performance of patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), alleviating the effects of respiratory and peripheral muscle dysfunctions, and promoting quality of life.
The use of ReCARE® by the medical team is facilitated by pre-configured protocols focused on:
- Strengthening of muscles involved in respiratory mechanics;
- Strengthening of expiratory musculature;
- Reduction of mechanical ventilation time.
